We’ve already seen what the Cybertruck could have looked like. Early sketches show a sleeker design, but Elon Musk didn’t want to go with something boring – he wanted to break the mold.
Musk said he didn’t want to do a boring truck and looked to movies and video games for inspiration. “I don’t care if no one buys it. We’re not doing a traditional boring truck. We can always do that later. I want to build something that’s cool. Like, don’t resist me,” said the CEO to his design team.
It was a risky move, and it achieved the desired effect of grabbing headlines, but we think this redesign is better.
