    Key Takeaways

    • Glynn Bloomquist’s custom Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale pays tribute to a legendary race car.
    • The V6 supercar features a special color scheme, emblems, wheels, and interior configuration.
    • Bloomquist plans to drive his 33 Stradale around central Texas.

Only 33 specially configured Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale supercars will ever be built, and we’ll likely never know what each one will look like. Well, except for one, owned by American entrepreneur and motorsports enthusiast Glynn Bloomquist. On his visit to the historic walls of Bottega Alfa Romeo, where he finalized the configuration of his unique 33 Stradale, we’re given a sneak preview of the V6 supercar that pays tribute to a legendary race car.

Bloomquist’s 33 Stradale has a multilayer Rosso Villa d’Este exterior paint with a white stripe on the bumper – a unique spec for the Italian supercar. This livery harkens to the Autodelta Tipo 33 race car, the precursor of the original 33 Stradale, specifically one of the four Tipo 33/3 entries to the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. The “3” in the nomenclature points toward the 3.0-liter V8 engine that makes 400 horsepower, catapulting the race car to 197 mph.

    Bespoke And Ready For Texas

Apart from the color, Bloomquist also chose the Autodelta and Quadrifoglio emblems on the rear intakes and the design of the 20-inch Progressive alloy wheels in black with carbon-fiber inserts. Inside, the Texas-based business executive opted for the Tributo configuration in two-tone slate and biscuit with aluminum trim combined with slate Alcantara upholstery.

To represent Bloomquist’s passion for both American and Italian racing, he requested no. 14 on the doors and headrests to pay homage to his two favorite race car drivers: Enzo Ferrari on his 1920s Alfa Romeo and AJ Foyt on his Foyt Coyote. The former pays tribute to Ferrari and his unbreakable bond with the Alfa Romeo brand, where he served as a tester, driver, commercial collaborator, and director of the racing department. The latter was a legendary American racer – a four-time Indianapolis 500 and seven-time USAC championship winner.

    Headed For Lone Star State

Thankfully, Bloomquist’s 33 Stradale won’t be a garage queen. Given his passion for Alfa Romeo and racing, Americans may get to see the unique supercar on racetracks when it arrives. Whether he’ll order another low-volume Alfa Romeo supercar is still uncertain, but we won’t be surprised if he does.

“I can’t wait to get my hands on the steering wheel of my 33 Stradale and hear the sound of its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with over 620 horsepower,” said Bloomquist. “Of course, it won’t stay sitting in the garage. In and around central Texas, where I live, there are plenty of fantastic streets and circuits where I track all my cars, and my Alfa Romeo custom build will be no exception.”
