Owners can even hook their Mercedes-Benz Wallbox up to the internet, unlocking additional features and convenience. This way, the charger can be operated remotely via the Mercedes me smartphone app. Customers can check on charging sessions, monitor charging history, and even start or stop charging sessions when they aren’t near the vehicle.
Over time, the Mercedes Wallbox will be improved with additional features, thanks to OTA updates.
Through the app, users can even track their estimated charging costs based on their vehicle’s energy consumption and the energy rate. It can also be locked or unlocked via the app to prevent opportunistic visitors with EVs from using your electricity. LED lights on the wallbox relay information to the owner, letting them know how far the charging process is.
The wallbox has been designed to reflect the sleek exterior design and practicality of contemporary EVs from the Stuttgart-based brand. The Mercedes-Benz motif festoons the charging box, mimicking the design found on Mercedes’ radiator grilles and Maybach wheels, for example.
