Electronic fuel injection brings many benefits for today’s enthusiasts. Improved fuel mileage, drivability, and performance are all welcome additions when upgrading to fuel injection. Whether in the process of swapping an LS-based drivetrain, or simply upgrading your engine to EFI, all that additional fuel control comes with certain requirements. Thankfully, companies such as Fuel Injection Technology (FiTech) have been constantly devising products to simplify the conversion to EFI.

There is a lot of value packed into this little canister. A 5-micron filter keeps your engine safe from contaminants and the internal regulator keeps fuel pressure at an EFI-friendly 58 PSI. The AN-6 fittings allow for simple installation.

One main issue that has kept many enthusiasts from making the jump to EFI has been designing a sufficient return line to the tank. Since EFI works on higher fuel pressures to get the proper atomization, there needs to be a way to regulate the pressure and allow for any excess fuel to return to the fuel tank. This new LS-style fuel filter/regulator from FiTech simplifies any EFI installation thanks to an internal fuel pressure regulator that works in conjunction with the included fuel filter.

This 2-in-1 fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator eliminates the need for multiple components, and the AN-6 ports make installation a snap. The pre-fitted filter features AN-6 terminated lines for the inlet and outlets that are brazed to prevent leaks and eliminate multiple fittings. With a maximum fuel pump flow rate of 255LPH and a maximum inlet pressure of 70, the internal regulator is designed to provide a consistent 58 PSI (4 Bar) fuel pressure.

The end with two fittings should be directed toward the tank, with the outer fitting serving as the fuel inlet and the center fitting as the return line back to the tank. The end with one fitting serves as the outlet to the fuel rail or throttle body.

The kit features a best-in-industry, 5-micron filter rating to keep your engine safe from dirt and other contaminants, and the affordable price means that regular maintenance costs won’t be painful to your wallet. The filter/regulator kit (Part Number 55012) comes with a pre-installed mounting bracket and insulating pad, and its simple design and small footprint make finding the perfect spot to install the kit as easy as ever. It is recommended that the fuel filter/regulator be mounted as close as possible to the fuel tank. This ensures an efficient fuel return to the tank and eliminates the need for lengthy, unsightly return lines from the engine to the tank.

The kit is covered by FiTech’s 3-Year Warranty. Contact your nearest FiTech Fuel Injection dealer or distributor to order your fuel filter/regulator, or check out FiTech’s website for more information.
