In order to take an original E-Type into a reliable, modern creation, ECD tears the car down and builds it back up. This process takes around 10 days, after which the body is taken down to the bare metal and repainted in any color the customer requests. No color is off limits, and ECD’s painters can even color match a sample provided by the client.
ECD uses approximately 30 to 40% original Jaguar components, including OEM floor pans, but upgrades pieces like the suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, headlights, and more. The car we drove, dubbed Project Dallas, was well-equipped with Fosseway High Performance Brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers and enhanced sport suspension.
Inside, customers can choose any leather or other material they’d like, so long as there is enough to finish the whole interior. Some customers even have a specific herd of cows they want to use, and ECD is happy to accommodate them – for a price. Crucially, ECD adds working air conditioning for those hot summer drives and heated seats for cold winter trips.
