The V line of Cadillac cars has a strong pedigree of being luxurious, powerful, and classy. They’re the type of car you might see an executive driving or parked in the valet lot next to an AMG Mercedes or BMW M series. However, over the years, high-performance enthusiasts got their hands on the V cars and produced horsepower monsters that are equal parts opulence and brute strength. For a while, it looked as if the V was being pulled from the grasp of enthusiasts due to GM’s Global B ECM architecture severely limiting modifications to the cars. Thankfully companies like Boost District continue to devote themselves to making big horsepower with the latest vehicles on the roads.

Since moving from California to just outside of Dallas, Texas, the Boost District team has enjoyed overwhelming success with customers coming in to have Texas-sized horsepower added to their rides. The shop specializes in supercharging anything with an LS or Gen-V LT engine. Like others in the automotive aftermarket, the Global B ECM architecture used in the latest GM vehicles put up serious roadblocks. That wasn’t going to stop the team at Boost District, though. Having built one of the first supercharged C8 Corvettes in the country, they turned their attention to the Cadillac CT5V Blackwing.

    Boost District

After countless hours of development and miles upon miles of drive time, Boost District is excited to offer its CT5V Blackwing 2650 supercharged package to the masses. The package is based around the Magnuson Superchargers TVS2650, a 2.65-liter roots-style supercharger. This is quite a step up over the 1.7-liter factory supercharger. The 2650 offers increased airflow with its bigger inlet, and improved efficiency with its four-lobe rotor package. In collaboration with Magnuson, Boost District was able to try different combinations and options on its shop car to ensure the drivability and power delivery were worth the upgrade.

The result is a simple bolt-on solution that generates a 145 horsepower increase. According to Boost District, its calibration team was able to maximize power delivery and create a very smooth application of all the added horsepower, void of dips that were initially seen in the middle of the powerband.

Two massive charge-air coolers keep intake-air temperatures where they need to be for reliable and repeatable performance all day long, even in the Texas heat. Boost District is currently offering the CT5V Blackwing 2650 package in two forms. The Stage 1 system is for customers that want to add power without touching the factory ECM calibration. It will make approximately 10 psi of boost that produces 724 horsepower and 703 lb.-ft. of torque.

The power increase comes in much sooner with the 2650 package over the stock combination, with a 100-plus wheel-horsepower increase over stock seen across the almost entire dyno pull.

The Stage 2 system is for car owners that want to spice things up a bit more. This system adds tuning of the car’s factory ECM along with everything in the Stage 1 system. The Stage 2 system bumps output even higher to 771 horsepower and 760 lb.-ft. of torque at 12.5 psi of boost.

Boost District CT5V Blackwing 2650 Package

    Stage 1 system includes:

    • TVS2650 head unit
    • Supercharger lid
    • 95mm or 103mm air inlet
    • Bypass valve
    • All hoses needed for installation (coolant and vacuum)
    • Hose clamps and hardware
    • Valve cover retrofit jig (billet valve cover replacement is available)
    • Upgraded coolant reservoir
    • Supercharger belt
    • Updated flexible fuel hose
    • Spark plugs
    • Optional 3-year 36,000-mile engine warranty

Stage 2 system includes everything above in the Stage 1 system, and adds tuning of the factory ECM.

If you are wanting to add some muscle to your CT5V Blackwing while maintaining its drivability and comfort, give Boost District a call or visit their site here.
