Key Takeaways
- The VelociRaptoR 1000 offers roughly 1,028 horsepower and rocketing to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds.
- Hennessey upgrades include a Predator V8 supercharger, and more for ultimate off-road beast.
- The production of the VelociRaptor 1000 continues Hennessey’s tradition of building outlandish truck conversions.
The Hennessey VelociRaptoR 1000 trophy truck has officially started production. The ultimate conversion for the Ford F-150 Raptor R, the new model features a host of upgrades and a 40% bump in power to approximately 1,028 horsepower and more than 850 lb-ft of torque. The company promises this will be the ultimate off-road beast and a blisteringly quick on-road truck that will embarrass competitors at your local drag strip.
It joins the VelociRaptoR 6×6 as two of the coolest F-150 conversions ever put into production, alongside the Ram TRX Mammoth 1000 and GMC Sierra Goliath 650. With the V8 being kicked to the curb, we won’t be able to enjoy them all for much longer, so it’s good that the VelociRaptoR 1000 made it to production.
Continuing The Raptor Legacy
The company has upgraded thousands of Raptors since its debut in 2009, and this new model applies the knowledge gained from that work. Modifying the 5.2-liter Predator V8 for the first time, the tuner added an upgraded 3.8-liter supercharger, high-flow air induction, billet fuel rails, a heavy-duty supercharger belt, upgraded fuel lines, an air/oil separator system, plus Hennessey’s engine management calibration.

The result is 1,028 horsepower delivered to all four wheels. This takes the truck from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds on the way to an 11.4-second quarter mile at 122 mph. This is fast enough to beat a Dodge Challenger SRT Widebody Redeye in the quarter. Other goodies include a 3-inch lift with a leveling kit, VelociRaptor bumpers, Hennessey wheels with off-road tires, power fold-out steps, VelociRaptoR 1000 badging, and a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty
Hennessey’s Bread And Butter
Releasing the VelociRaptoR 1000 gets the company back to its roots, as the Raptor is one of the trucks that brought it to prominence in the 2010s. Without selling high-performance truck and muscle car conversions, the company never would have been able to create a world-class hypercar like the Venom F5.
“The VelociRaptoR 1000 is now the apex predator of pick-up trucks. The Raptor has been the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of trucks ever since it went into production. Our VelociRaptoR 1000 upgrade, with new wheels, tires, and big Brembo brakes takes this amazing, all-purpose vehicle and makes it the 911 Turbo S of trucks. It’s as good as it gets, period.”
– John Hennessey, company Founder and CEO

The desert-running Raptor brand is now an entire sub-niche. The F-150 version may only be three generations in, but a lot has changed over the years.
The company has yet to sell out the entire production run of 500 units, so if you’re interested, you can head over to their website to place your order. There’s no word on pricing, but a base Raptor R will run you about $112,000, so it should add around $40,000-$50,000 to that price.
