Important public service announcement: you can rent a Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT from Hertz with a simulated Borla exhaust and sweet body kit. Oh, and only 100 of them exist. These little electric crossovers look downright mean in the black and gold Hertz colors, but if you try to look them up online there’s a surprising lack of information, even on the Hertz website. What we do know is that these cars are a part of the renewed partnership Shelby and Hertz signed in 2022 and can be rented in select cities across the country.

Shelby and Ford go together like peanut butter and jelly, but throw Hertz into the mix, and somehow you’ve made a good thing even better. The iconic partnerships have created some of the most sought-after performance vehicles in US history; high-horsepower rocketships that your average Joe can rent if they’re willing to pony up for it. This EV entrant may be a little more tame compared to its ancestors, but we have to admit we love how it looks.
It’s Got The Shelby Looks
Details on the model are scarce, with most of the information coming from first-hand accounts. You may remember that last year Ford and Shelby unveiled the Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT for sale, just not for us here in the US. It seems this GT-H version takes cues from that model, but offers different graphics and paint to put it in line with Shelby Hertz models of the past. It has the iconic double gold racing stripes over a black exterior, but it also offers some cool side decals and Hertz badging.

The body kit adds other bits and pieces like carbon fiber trim and custom wheels. The model appears to get the handling kit that lowers it by an inch, making it look a bit meaner. The interior also features accents on the seats and dashboard and even a plaque denoting the unique nature of the vehicle. Finishing it off is a simulated Borla exhaust that adds some depth and character to the noise the vehicle makes. This can be adjusted depending on your tastes.
But Lacks The Shelby Go
Unfortunately, if you were hoping this model was going to receive more power, that isn’t the case. The Mach-E GT-H is still working with 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque like the original GT, which is fast enough to shoot you from 0-60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. If you’re looking for more power, then we suggest you take a look at its Hertz siblings.
The Shelby Mustang GT500-H that was unveiled for 2023 is a 900 horsepower monster created to celebrate Shelby’s 60th anniversary and the iconic Hertz partnership. This model features a host of performance features, including a larger supercharger. It also features an actual Borla exhaust system that we bet sounds better than the one on the Mustang Mach-E GT-H.
