The improvements to the Porsche Taycan lineup include the powertrain and performance specs, with the automaker stating that all models now accelerate faster than ever before. The enhanced performance and outputs are partly because of a new rear-axle motor on all models. The new Taycan sedan in base RWD configuration makes 402 hp with overboost and 302 lb-ft from the motor on the rear axle. This is sufficient for a 0-60 sprint time of 4.5 seconds with launch control, and a top speed of 142 mph – this is 0.6 seconds quicker than the outgoing model.
The 4S adds another motor to the front axle for AWD, and it makes up to 455 hp and 512 lb-ft – 536 hp with overboost and launch control, resulting in a 3.5-second sprint to 60 mph. Top speed is increased to 155 mph with summer tires on this model. The new ‘push-to-pass’ function, as part of the Sport Chrono package, avails a burst of boost for ten seconds at which these peak outputs occur.
For 2025, all models now come with adaptive air suspension as standard, although buyers can still opt for the Porsche Active Ride Suspension on the 4S. Previously, this had only been standard from the 4S and has been lauded for its capability and adjustability, making the driving experience even better.
