While there are changes to the interior and exterior of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V, what’s under the hood stays the same – and that’s no bad thing. The familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 is a good one, potent enough to rival the best Germany has to offer. The Cadillac CT5-V’s engine makes 360 hp and 405 lb-ft and is paired to a ten-speed automatic transmission, with buyers given the option between a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive setup.
Although its more powerful Blackwing counterpart is the true BMW M3 rival, the CT5-V goes toe to toe with the likes of the BMW M340i, which makes a little more power and dashes to 60 in the mid-four-second range. The Cadillac CT5-V’s performance is excellent, needing just two-tenths more to dispatch the 0-60 mph sprint. Top speed is set at 156 mph, although Cadillac notes this is “for the racetrack”.
To help drivers get the most from their CT5-V, the car comes with standard performance traction management, launch control, an electronic limited-slip differential, and magnetic ride control. This also gives the CT5-V a wonderful duality, making it a comfortable and pleasant cruiser on the road and a slightly more aggressive sedan on the track.
