Not much technical info about the new Civic RS has been disclosed. But considering that the Japan-spec Civic Hatchback is specced with a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine, the RS could have similar specifications to the US-spec Civic Si Sedan.
That said, the Civic RS could come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine making 200 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission has already been confirmed. And, if the similarities with the Civic Si continue, it should also benefit from performance-oriented upgrades like improved suspension, a rev-matching system, and a limited-slip differential, among others. Like most Honda Civic generations, the power should be sent exclusively to the front wheels.
