The event was set up in one-hour blocks where every driver got a chance to drift up and down the mountain. Throughout the video, you can see fellow drivers in close proximity as Tuerck flicks his truck back and forth through the curves. There are many typical drift cars like the Nissan Silvia, Mazda RX-7, Nissan 240SX, and Tuerck’s GT86, but some unconventional options can be seen, with the Stout definitely being the coolest.
It was a dream come true to participate in an event like this, according to Tuerck, with the only downside being the Stout running into teething problems the first day. The power steering started becoming intermittent and the car was leaking oil due to some bolts not being properly tightened down.
Seeing all these cars tear up some mountain roads is incredible and gets you excited for what’s next to come. Appalachia is a pretty large place with lots of mountains to choose from, perhaps next time they’ll head down to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee or North Carolina.
