Depending on the model variant, Lucid is cutting prices in the US by up to 10,000 dollars and in Canada by up to 13,400 Canadian dollars. That comes after Lucid reduced US prices by over 10,000 dollars in August. The decisive factor for the recent price drop is likely to be sales: Lucid once again reported declining production figures for the third quarter.
Specifically, the US company has slashed the price of the Air Touring from 95,000 to 87,500 dollars and that of the more powerful Grand Touring from 125,600 to 115,600 dollars. The price of the all-wheel drive Air Pure is dropping from 82,400 to 74,900 dollars. The rear-wheel drive Air Pure, which was launched in October, remains unchanged at 77,400 dollars. That means that the all-wheel drive version of the Pure is cheaper this month than the single-engine version.
Lucid will publish its full results for the third quarter on Tuesday. The US company recently reported a loss of more than 700 million dollars for the second quarter but emphasised that the financing of the business is secured until 2025. To reach its already lowered annual target of 10,000 vehicles, the company would have to build around 4,000 cars in the last three months of the year.
