When new routes are created, operators can switch to the Playback mode, which automatically propels the mower. It also allows laborers to do other work, boosting efficiency.
Honda has equipped the electric mower with omnidirectional, radar, and LiDAR sensors. While LiDAR aids autonomous driving tech in cars like the Mercedes-Benz EQS, the tech is used to detect obstacles better and stop the mower if necessary.
The AWM is also installed with a traction control system, which maintains straight tracking on hills and rough terrains. Using a differential two-motor traction control suppresses tire slip, achieving a more stable straight-line and turning performance. Low load operations at low speeds automatically reduce blade rotation to reduce power consumption, while high load operations reduce speed for more optimal grass cutting.
