Genesis’ luxury electric vehicles are available in 33 states after the brand added 10 more states to its sales locations this week.
The GV60 SUV, Electrified GV70 SUV and Electrified G80 fill out the new brand’s EV lineup as a small SUV, a somewhat larger compact SUV and luxury sedan, respectively. The GV60 starts at just under $60,000.
Previously the South Korean brand’s EVs were limited to just over 20 states, primarily those with more public charging infrastructure like California and Florida. Of the three Genesis models, only the new Electrified GV70 qualifies for the full federal tax credit for eligible buyers. It’s made in Alabama.
The full list of 33 states now includes Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
As part of the sales expansion, Genesis is adding two retail shops in California and Louisiana. Genesis of South Bay (near Los Angeles) and Baton Rouge feature a showroom, test drives and services for customers.
Genesis works with Electrify America to offer three years of free 30-minute charging sessions at public stations for all new Genesis EV buyers.
