The exterior design of the BMW 4 Series Coupe has been refreshed. BMW says the front end’s update will go a long way to helping the 4 Series stand out, not that it didn’t already with its bucktoothed grille. The M440i models get a new BMW kidney grille with high gloss black surrounds, horizontally arranged bars, and an M logo. This is underscored by model-specific accents in high gloss black, which were previously grey.
The headlights are new, with slim LEDs flanking that grille, and have been upgraded with low and high beam lighting generated from one LED module. A pair of arrow-shaped LED units house the side marker lights, DRLs, and turn signals. The air intakes up front have a mesh structure on the lower-tier trims. Matte chrome surrounds are new for 2025.
At the tail end, the taillights gain laserlight functionality as standard on M440 models and can be added to lesser trims via the Shadowline Package. The taillight clusters feature laser diodes that illuminate glass fiber bundles to give off an attractive 3D light graphic – technology inherited from the M4 CSL. M440i models get trapezoidal tailpipe trim, which is also rendered in high gloss black as standard, and get a carbon fiber rear lip spoiler.
BMW has added new exterior paint colors for the 2025 4 Series Coupe, and buyers can choose from two solid and eight metallic finishes. New to the palette are Cape York Green Metallic and Vegas Red Metallic; BMW Individual paint finishes are also available.
Two new 19-inch wheel designs are available for the new year, with a fresh Y-spoke design standard on the M440i in Jet Black or bi-color finish. The second new alloy wheel option is available in bi-color or Midnight Grey.
