2024 VinFast VF 3 First Look Review: Cheap And Cheerful

Tiny cars like these are in no way designed to seat the growing family – or even particularly large adults, for that matter. Like the Fiat 500e, the VF 3 seats just four, although some have suggested a fifth person would fit in a pinch – we disagree, but we haven’t seen any pictures to prove otherwise. Seating will likely be sufficient for quick trips rather than being comfort-focused, and we expect durable and hardy materials to be used inside. Cloth upholstery is pretty much a given at this price point.

The minimalist approach applies to the interior of the VinFast VF 3. From what we can see, space has been optimized for passengers, and only the essential features are accounted for. The automaker has said that an advanced ten-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included, but what else is on the spec sheet is still up in the air. We note the digital gauge cluster in the picture below, but we don’t see the infotainment display on this model; it’s possible that the instrument cluster doubles as the infotainment interface.

Like other VinFast products, we expect the VF 3 to have a full suite of airbags as well as basic driver assists like cruise control and rollover mitigation. Single-zone climate control is a likely standard addition, too. In keeping with the budget orientation, the Eco model will be more spartan, while the Plus model will have a few more niceties added.

Cargo space figures for the VinFast VF 3 have been hinted at – but only in terms of folding down the rear seats. VinFast says that the total trunk volume with the back row stowed comes to 19.4 cubic feet. There will be much less packing space with the back seat up.
