McLaren supercars are distinctive, thanks to that grinning front end, and the GTS is only a little different. Exterior updates to the McLaren GTS ostensibly make it look more assertive than the GT it replaces, but it’ll take an eagle eye to identify precise differences. Up front, the GTS’s signature ‘hammerhead’ styling includes a new lower front bumper with revised air intakes that are more pronounced. This allows more airflow to aid the cooling system, highlighting the brand’s ability to marry elegant lines with aerodynamic functions. The front air blades can be optioned in gloss carbon fiber.

The rear stays the same, but there are taller air scoops on the haunches for greater airflow into the mid-mounted engine. The tail end gets a large diffuser and dual exhausts, and the latter can be switched out for an optional sports exhaust system with a more raucous soundtrack.

What’s new for the 2024 GTS is that McLaren caters to a higher level of customization. As standard, there is a gloss black finish on the exhaust outlets, mirror caps, and window surrounds, and visual carbon fiber can be added to the front splitter, side skirts, rear bumper, and diffuser. There’s also a new Stealth Badge option that renders all badging in black.

The GTS rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, with a ten-spoke Turbine forged alloy wheel design unique to the new model. These wheels can be had in various finishes, and buyers can opt for lightweight titanium wheel bolts. It’s worth noting that this special setup will only be available in the third quarter of 2024. Specially developed Pirelli P Zero tires are standard regardless of your wheel choice.

There are loads of exterior colors for the new McLaren GTS, with hues like Mantis Green, Tanzanite Blue, Ice White, and Papaya Spark being familiar. But the GTS gets a bespoke color called Lava Grey, reflecting a red fleck in the right light. Of course, the MSO division means you can likely have your McLaren GTS in any shade you want, if you have the budget.
