1967 Dodge Coronet Hemi vs Dodge Challenger Hemi Scat Pack Shaker. Many times before we have questioned ourselves, what’s better?

A classic muscle car with simple mechanics and old school and raw power under the hood, or a new modern muscle car filled with electronics and also a powerful engine under the hood.

That’s what we have today, a classic 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi 426 and a modern Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker. Before we make any conclusion on this, let’s first meet their performances.

    1967 Dodge Coronet Hemi Engine

The Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker it’s powered by a modern Chrysler’s 392 cubic-inch, 6.4-liter small-block SRT Hemi V8 engine, beating at 485 horsepower and 474 lb.-ft. of torque.

This modern beast has an 8-speed automatic transmission attached by a 3.09 rear gear. The only downside of this modern Mopar is its weight, which is 4239 pounds.

On the other hand, the classic 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi 426 it’s powered by a classic Chrysler’s 426 cubic-inch or 7.0-liter V8 HEMI big-block engine, factory rated at 425 horsepower and 490 lb.-ft. of torque.

The HEMI engine is attached by a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission, which transfers the power at the 4.30 rear gears, made for drag racing.
